Mexico City, 1942
Frida Kahlo first met Diego Rivera when she was an art student hoping to get advice on her career from the famous Mexican muralist. Although Rivera was married, a courtship ensued. They wed in 1929 (he was 42, she was 22) much to the disapproval of Frida's parents, who referred to the couple as "the elephant and the dove."
Both, Frida and Diego have long been recognized as important Mexican painters who achieved great international popularity during their lifetimes.
During their marriage, Frida and Diego had a distinct way of living, she was always full of enthusiasm and the minimum happening became a joyful event. Frida was a “Foodie” who loved food as much as she loved
Frida was known for her love of life and her rich festivities; she celebrated birthdays, baptisms and popular and national holidays. She welcomed family, friends, mentors, disciples and colleagues into her home as well as prominent political figures of her time.
Together, we will transform a simple afternoon into a magical culinary experience inspired by Frida’s love for life.
